The Wheely Eco Bike or simply Wheely Eco is a stationary sustainable bicycle that can generate electricity from the paddling movement of its user. The user can benefit from this feature by simultaneously connecting his mobile phone or laptop to the built-in charger. While he is charging his electronic device, the integrated screen of the Wheely Eco Bike offers him various activities like virtual bicycle tours all over the world or even real-time cycling races with everyone using a Wheely Eco Bike at the same time as him.
Our team’s common belief is that cooperation and continuous development are the characteristics that make us stand out – not necessarily the final product. We were lucky enough to evolve these two characteristics through the innovative challenge of “The Digital Gate Contest IV”, which has been there for us from the beginning. Undoubtedly, our collaboration with Athens International Airport has been a special experience. Regarding our product’s Proof Of Concept, the airport made the process less stressful and at the same time very enjoyable. From the process of installing the WheelyEco Bike to the constant correction of mistakes and improvements, the team of the Athens International Airport has been really helpful and supportive.
Our team consists of 5 people with a great appetite for improvement and creation. More specifically, Fotini Katsandri, our pitch event presenter, is responsible for the team’s strategic planning in order to gain the competitive advantage we seek. At the same time, Fotini Sakka is responsible for the presence of our team and idea, online through social media and offline through various events. Lefteris Marinelis deals with the technical nature of our product, which especially now is the most important. Research and development, as well as continuous experimentation, are some of his tasks. In addition, Elpiniki Petrou and Theano Stamataki, members of our team and employees of the Athens International Airport, are the ones who are in charge of the continuous communication with our partners as well as security and smooth operation issues during our pilot.
