The Digital Gate was created to open the operational ecosystem of Athens International Airport to startups ready to move beyond theory and into real-world deployment. Our mission is to bridge the gap between startup innovation and enterprise implementation by co-developing solutions that address significant challenges in transport and tourism.
Through a structured, pilot-driven framework, selected teams collaborate with experienced airport professionals to refine their concepts, integrate advanced technologies, and prepare solutions for real-world testing within the airport environment.
The goal is not to showcase ideas, but to implement them, transforming complex operational environments into living laboratories where innovation is rigorously tested, validated, and scaled to enhance airport operations and the passenger experience.

The Program Journey
Over several months, selected teams work closely with airport executives and ACEin experts to develop, refine, and validate their solutions.
The program culminates in the pilot implementation of an MVP within real operational conditions, followed by the presentation of results and measurable impact.
Beyond the pilot phase, The Digital Gate opens the door to continued collaboration and potential future partnerships or funding opportunities aimed at further improving airport operations and passenger experience.
The Digital Gate is delivered through the collaboration between Athens International Airport and ACE that is the Incubator and Technology Transfer Office of Athens University of Economics and Business.
